About WeeeCharity

WeeeCharity is a not-for-profit UK registered charity helping to relieve poverty by offering free, complete recycling of computers and electrical equipment to businesses, households and education settings. Your donations power training, skills and community programmes while keeping e-waste out of landfill. People good and planet good—our favourite combo.

What we accept

New, used or end-of-life—if it once plugged in or stored data, we can usually help. Condition doesn’t matter; we’ll refurbish for reuse where possible and recycle responsibly when not.

Trust & compliance

As a fully authorised, Environment Agency-registered charity, you can trust us to handle your equipment safely, securely and responsibly—with the paperwork to prove it.

👉 Check what we recycle on our What We Collect page (including items we can’t take).

Step-by-step: what happens after you enquire

1) We acknowledge your enquiry

  • You’ll get an email within 48 working hours confirming we’ve received it.

  • Our emails sometimes play hide-and-seek—please check your spam/junk.

2) We plan a route in your area

  • When we have a business collection near you, we’ll email a proposed date.

  • You confirm it suits, and we’ll send a booking confirmation.

3) Final details before collection

  • Once all stops on the route are confirmed, we’ll email you 24 hours before with:

    • Your ETA (subject to traffic),

    • The collection team’s names, and

    • contact number.

On the day

  • Our drivers arrive and say hello.

  • We complete a Waste Transfer Note / Donation Note electronically—a copy is emailed to you automatically(do check spam/junk).

  • We attach pre-printed barcoded labels to data-bearing items/pallets. The barcode includes your collection date and postcode, so your items are tracked through our data process from door to desk.

Back at base

  • The van is offloaded and reconciled against your electronic note.

  • Data-bearing items head to our Data Destruction Department for secure wiping (HMG IS5 Enhanced where appropriate) or shredding.

Reports & certificates

  • We produce the relevant reports and certificates of data destruction.

  • Business certificates are emailed on Friday afternoons once the collection is signed off.

  • Residential / post / drop-off certificates are available on request.

Our Mission

At WeeeCharity, we give old tech a new purpose—for people and the planet.

What we stand for

  • Protecting the environment: We reduce e-waste going to landfill by prioritising waste reduction, repair, refurbishment, responsible recycling, and reuse/resale back into the community. (Less waste, more wow.)

  • Building skills & confidence: In a safe, supportive working environment, we train volunteers—including people who are unemployeddisabled, or have learning difficulties—to gain practical skills, workplace habits and confidence that prepare them for meaningful employment.

  • Relieving financial hardship: We help people in need by recycling and providing electrical and electronic items at no cost, keeping essential tech in circulation and money in pockets.

  • Preventing poverty: Starting in Warrington and reaching across the UK, we tackle the causes and effects of poverty through access to equipmenttraining, and opportunities to progress.

Why it matters

Every donated device is a small act with a big ripple: less landfillmore learninglower costs for families, and brighter futures for our volunteers. That’s people good and planet good—our favourite combo.
