📦 How Our Collections Work (Simple & Efficient)

At WeeeCharity, we organise collections in a way that saves time, fuel and maximises recycling impact — by grouping pickups in the same area on the same day. Here’s what happens after you submit a collection request:

  1. 1️⃣ You Submit a Collection Request

    • Use our online form to send us your details and what you want collected.
    • You’ll receive an acknowledgement email within 48 working hours. (Check spam/junk folders too — sometimes replies hide there.)
  2. 2️⃣ We Queue & Plan

    • Our collections team review your submission and place you into a queue with other nearby requests.
    • We group collections geographically and look for suitable dates when our vehicle can do multiple stops in the same area — this reduces emissions and helps keep the service free.
    • We’ll then propose a date to you by email, asking if it suits your schedule.
  3. 3️⃣ You Confirm Your Date

    • You reply to the proposed date confirming it works for you.
    • Once enough clients in your area confirm, we officially book your slot, plan the most efficient route, and prepare the necessary paperwork.
  4. 4️⃣ Labels & Paperwork Prepared

    • Our team generate pre-printed labels with your collection date and postcode. These help us track data-bearing devices through the process.
    • We also prepare the Waste/Donations Transfer Note (the official documentation confirming handover).
  5. 5️⃣ Confirmation & ETA

    • 24 hours before collection day, we send you an email with:
      • Your estimated time of arrival (ETA)
      • The names of the driver and driver’s mate
      • A contact number for that day
    • (Traffic conditions can influence arrival timing.)
  6. 6️⃣ Collection Day

    • Our driver and driver’s mate arrive and let you know who they are.
    • They’ll use the prepared labels to identify items, especially those with data storage.
    • The team complete the Waste/Donations Transfer Note with you on the spot.
  7. 7️⃣ Back at Base

    • Once all collections are done for the day, the van returns to base and is offloaded.
    • Items with data storage are logged into our database tracking system — linked to the transfer note — and processed for secure data wiping or shredding.
  8. 8️⃣ Data Wiping & Certificates

    • All data devices are securely wiped or destroyed and logged in our system.
    • When complete, certificates of data destruction and any relevant reports are uploaded and emailed to you.

💡 Why We Do It This Way

  • ✓ Efficient routing means fewer miles travelled and a faster service for everyone.
  • ✓ Barcoded labels help us track your items from collection to data processing.
  • ✓ Clear communication with ETAs and documentation gives you peace of mind.
  • ✓ Certificates and reports are provided once processing is complete.
